Secure, Convenient, Accessible
Telehealth is providing clinical care through online video conferencing. It allows us to communicate with audio and video from different locations. This allows for more flexibility if faced with bad weather, illness, or childcare needs, giving us the ability to still meet.
Security
The security of your information is very important to us. We provide telehealth through a HIPAA compliant program, Telehealth by SimplePractice. We trust and have been using SimplePractice for our billing and practice information. Their Telehealth services are secure and easy to use. We will continue to make every effort to keep your safety and security a high priority in all we do.
Tech Needs
You need a computer with a webcam or a smartphone. On a computer, you can use most browsers (works with Firefox or Chrome). On your smartphone, you can download a free app. You also need a private space to have the conversation without interruption or others overhearing. Limitations
You must be physically in the state of Iowa when participating in the session due to licensure limitations across state lines. Please contact our office with questions.
Also, video and audio are needed for services. If the audio or video isn't working for a session and we cannot find a solution, we'll have to reschedule. Audio-only sessions are not offered at this time (and are not paid for by many insurance companies).
New Clients
We would love to be a support for you! Our office allows you to go back and forth as needed/desired between in-person and telehealth. Sometimes it's just more convenient: No waiting room. No travel. Secure and competent emotional and mental support.
Insurance Coverage
Insurances are now required to cover telehealth counseling the same as in-person counseling in the state of Iowa. We will verify your insurance coverage prior to using telehealth to ensure there are no surprises as best we can.
Fees
Fees for telehealth are the same as for the same service in person.
