Telehealth is providing clinical care through online video conferencing. It allows us to communicate with audio and video from different locations. This allows for more flexibility if faced with bad weather, illness, or unexpected quarantine, giving us the ability to still meet.
Security - The security of your information is very important to us. We provide telehealth through a HIPAA compliant program, Telehealth by SimplePractice. We trust and have been using SimplePractice for our billing and practice information. Their Telehealth services are secure and easy to use. While rules have been relaxed regarding providing telehealth during the COVID-19 pandemic to allow for using programs such as Facetime and Skype, it is important to us to prioritize your security. We will continue to make every effort to keep your safety and security a high priority in all we do.
Tech Needs - You need a computer with a webcam or a smartphone. On a computer, you can use most browsers (works with Firefox or Chrome, does not work with Brave). On your smartphone, you can download a free app. You also need a private space to have the conversation without interruption or others overhearing. There's a great guide from SimplePractice to get started at

Limitations - Normally you must be physically in the state of Iowa when participating in the session due to licensure limitations across state lines. With the COVID-19 pandemic, rules are being relaxed to allow for services across state lines. Please contact me and I can find the most up to date information for your situation and location.
New Clients - We would love to be a support for you, particularly now. We would love to see you, giving the support you're looking for with the peace of mind of avoiding exposure. No waiting room. No travel. Secure and competent emotional and mental support.
Insurance Coverage - Most insurances do cover telehealth services. Particularly with current events regarding COVID-19 (the coronavirus pandemic), telehealth coverage has been expanded. We will verify your insurance coverage prior to using telehealth to ensure there are no surprises as best we can. If you're uncertain, we're also offering specific pandemic support for a significantly reduced cost. See our COVID-19 site for additional information.
Fees - Fees for telehealth are the same as for the same service in person.
Getting Started - Simply let us know you'd like to schedule a telehealth appointment! We can schedule it simply and quickly with only one additional form to be reviewed and signed prior to meeting.
